What is Freesat?
Freesat began as service offered jointly by the BBC and ITV to allow the reception of a digital television service via satellite as an
alternative to aerial or ‘freeview’ reception in the UK, because only 78% of the UK can receive digital signals via aerial, but since it‘s launch takeup has been significant with almost a million people in the UK opting for the benefits of a HD satellite service, without the bill at the end of each month.

Video On Demand
By early 2010 the BBC’s on demand video service will be available via the vast majority of Freesat receivers, along with ITV Player sometime around mid 2010 meaning as well as live transmission via satellite, you will also be able to pick and choose from past and current programming as well as content exclusive to iPlayer and ITV Player.
And now on to the important bit, the price.
